Explore how an additional reported account could change your utilization and the average age of the accounts you enter. This calculator does not predict your credit score or approval.
Personal cards are sold and placed by Conway Connects LLC. The scenario assumes an added account reports a zero balance and is counted; actual results can differ.
Revolving accounts
Open personal revolving accounts with reported limits and balances. Leave out installment loans: auto, mortgage, personal and student loans do not count toward utilization.
Simulate a new tradeline
See what an added line does to both numbers before you buy one.
This tool divides entered balances by entered limits. Individual card utilization can also matter, so a low overall ratio does not erase a highly utilized card.
Lower revolving utilization generally helps, but no single percentage guarantees approval or decline. Paying down balances reduces debt; adding an account does not.
Every new line you open divides your total account age by one more account. Open a card with two seasoned accounts on file and your average drops by a third overnight, which is why a burst of applications reads badly even when every payment is on time.
An added account raises the entered average only if its age exceeds that average. Actual bureau reporting and treatment by scoring models can differ.

Who built this
The same math, before anyone sells you anything
This calculator is the arithmetic Fund My Brand runs on a file before recommending anything at all. It is published here in full, with no email gate, because the number is either good or it is not, and you should be able to see which without a sales call first.
If the number comes back healthy, you probably do not need a tradeline. If it comes back at 60% across four accounts averaging under two years, that is a different conversation, and the live card list is the place to start it.
The Personal Tradeline Checklist explains what to review before requesting a card.
Does this calculator store or send my data?
No. Every calculation happens in your browser. There is no form submission, no analytics on the inputs and nothing written to a server. Close the tab and the numbers are gone.
Which accounts belong in the calculator?
For this simplified estimate, use open personal revolving accounts: Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express cards, store cards such as Macy's or Home Depot, lines of credit, and business cards that report to your personal file. Leave out auto loans, mortgages, personal loans and student loans, which are installment debt and do not affect utilization.
Where do I get accurate numbers to enter?
Pull a current report from all three bureaus, Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, and read the limits off it rather than from memory. You are entitled to a free report each year at AnnualCreditReport.com.
How fast does a personal tradeline post?
In the card's reporting window, usually 2 to 4 weeks after you order. Every card on the live list shows its request-by date and reporting window.
Is a lower utilization always better?
Lower revolving utilization generally helps, but there is no universal approval threshold. You do not need to carry interest-bearing debt to build credit.
How far back do lenders look?
Lenders and scoring models differ. Some models use balance trends over time; this calculator is a snapshot of the figures you enter.
